Well I have read the faq, and about 500 of the 47K postings to this
group, and I have found nothing of use. I had a working Linux box on
a 386DX 20MHz with 4Meg of ram. I configured quite a few things and
then to get rid of the boot up message about linux mounting an
unchecked file system I uncommented the e2fsck line in my /etc/rc file
and replaced /dev/sda1 with /dev/hda2 which is my harddrive partition.
Unfortunately now on bootup when e2fsck runs it says 'Reading tables'
and then stops! The machine is completely useless. Are there any
suggestions about how to get around this, other than reinstalling the
whole system. BTW, I used the latest SLS to install linux.
Thanks in advance for your help!
