   I have very similar problem with 0.99p11+ALPHA kernel. The booting
locks up at the "login: " prompt. I then have to hard boot
the machine, let LILO boots up the machine again using the old
kernel (0.99p10).  Interestingly, if I now reboot the machine with
new kernel, it is successfully booting up!!  This game happens
every other time, very fun.  So far, the booting still occasionally
locks up. Anyone also?
