Re: X386 and an STB X24
Okay I finally got X tp run in 1024x768x256. Thanks to everyone that helped me :). The problem I am having now is getting to the other trems. before I installed XS3.0.4.4 I could use <ctrl> <Alt> F1-6 and get another vertual term. but now I can't do that? Is there a different key sequance to do this with XS3.0.4.4? Steven -- All that is, ever, ever was, will be ever, twisting, turning, through the never, never. -Metallica

Looking for 'the best' ethernet board ...
Hi, I'm going to buy an ethernet board for my Linux box in the near future. I already know which cards are supported, but I don't know how they perform in every-day-life. This is, where *YOU* come in. If you have had problems with your board, or you think your board is the greatest board in the world, please send me an email. I'd specially like to hear how the boards compare to another in terms of speed, (Under Linux. I will *NEVER* use the board under DOS or WINDOZE) but also a 'The XXX work...

Re: Linux & NS/FIP?
I plan to do the same thing. I observe that I have to be very careful to choose hardware which can be loved by both NS3.1 & Linux. For Linux, I am looking at hardware compatiblity list (sunsite.unc.edu /pub/Linux/docs) and XFree1.3 announcement. For makeing sure those hardware I choose for Linux can live with NS, I have to get some hardware compatibility docs (ftp.next.com /pub/...) and read those -- [Tzeng Ruey Yuan] --yuan

Release date for next SLS version?
Hi All. While I'm aware that many have posted questions concerning the release date of the next SLS version, I haven't seen any specific dates. As I'm about to install Linux for the first time (looking very much forward to this) and my Cirrus Logic board will need XFree1.3, I have waited for a new SLS release to appear. As I understand, the next SLS will be a major update including all sorts of nice stuff... My question is therefore simple: Can anyone (Peter McDonald?) give me an indication as t...

Re: compilation error: Undefined symbol: _bsd_ioctl HELP!!
First thing to do when posting a problem is to include the pertinent environment you are working with, such as versions of Linux, compilers, libraries, etc. In this case, your probably linking without -lbsd, which includes /usr/libbsd.a. This library includes the emulation BSD sgtty (that's where bsd_ioctl is defined). SLS 1.02 STILL HANGS ON A1
Is it just me, or are there other people out there who are still experiencing problems booting Linux SLS 1.02? When I put in the A1 bootdisk, Linux says its normal video message, says its uncompressing, then goes to boot the Kernel, and dies in a major way (hangs the machine) If I boot off a 0.99-4 boot disk, no problems (but I can't find where I put mine *sigh*), only under SLS 1.02 I can't boot... This is about identical to my setup (except mine is a 386sx) and I love it. Re: Multiple domains for my node & Sendmail
That's the key: this isn't a uucp problem. This is a mail transport problem. Standard SLS distribution uses SMail 3 as the mail transport, so that's where you need to fix it. In the smail config file, which would be /usr/local/lib/smail/config, you should have a"domains=" entry. Assuming your machine is "fred" and you want to be known as "fred.domain.net" and "fred.domain.com" (and, what the heck, fred.uucp too) you want a line like: domains=domain.net:domain.com:uucp This is in the ...
