Just for grins, I tried using domainname on my machine and still got
the same old domainname showing up.  I then went and modified the HOSTNAME
file, along with hosts, to contain only the host name (no longer host.domain).
Uniboard came up after rebooting the system.  I was able to telnet localhost
back into my system with no problem.

Why the deviation then for HOSTNAME/hostname function?
