I have been trying to put together a component list for my own 'Dream
Machine'. Here are a few sticky areas I've come up against. I'm
asking for your help with a few of these details ... :)

SCSI Interface:

I need either an EISA or VESA SCSI interface that is compatible with
Linux. Host adapter caching is not a must (I have found references
that RAM caching performs better). Also, if you could point me toward
some specific reviews ...

Video Subsystem:

I am looking seriously at either the ATI Graphics Ultra Pro or one of
the ET4000 based cards. I can use

        1) I can run 1280x1024x256 at 72 Hz refresh.

        2) I can find Xfree86 drivers for these cards!

What options do I have in the way of VESA or EISA ET4000 cards and Linux?

Monitor:

I need to find a monitor with at least 15" diagonal active display
area that supports 1280x1024x256 at 72 Hz refresh rate. I don't yet
know if I can sprint for a 17" monitor. For now I'm looking at 15-16
inch displays instead.

Keyboard:

I want a keyboard with the Control key next to the A key! I
understand Keytronics sells one or more models like this ... can
somebody give me a part number?

Thanks in advance for your help. Please send me email instead of
posting followups ... I'm going to be posting summaries as I go along.
:)
