I recently upgraded to SLS1.02, added GCC2.4.3 and XFree86-1.3 myself. Got the latest emacs from tsx-11. Installed emacs.bin.4.3.3 (numbering?) Certainly, it wasn't the *very* latest version for libs 4.4.1 (?) Works sort of on the console. Core dumps if I try to find a file (c-x c-f), start up when there's no file in directory, backspace beyond start of file, press ) when there's no opening bracket, startup in C-mode and seemingly random times thereafter. In X, I get the window frame to place, but it crashes when I place it. The reason for getting the latest emacs was that the emacs with SLS core dumped out of the box, ie before adding new libs etc. I don't think I've done anything wrong, but I'm probably wrong on that count. Any help is appreciated. And I was running SLS kernel 0.99pl9, upgraded to 0.99pl10. It makes no difference. 386-25, no copro, 5 megs ram. Please don't say it's a 486 version only. There was no mention of that that I could remember. There is a directory /usr/lib/emacs/19.13/i486-unknown-linux/ however, so...... Thanks again, Scott.
