Gee, I just use a combination of find and cpio and backed up to a stack
of preformatted floppy disks.  This what I used to do under Microport's
System V/AT and this what I occassionally do on the Crays that I baby
sit (except I cpio to tape).  Other than the agony of preformatting
disks (heck, you can buy them that way) and changing them as they fill
(but heck, you would have to change tape reels/cartridges too, if you
have a manly enough file system) I don't see what the problem is, if
you really need to back up your linux partition.

And the answer is, get another PC and put your DOS stuff in it and wire it to
a serial port on your linux box.  And it can be a cheap PC, because you'll
only be running DOS on it - you could probably pick a used 286 at a good
price.
