Hi,

        I am toying with the idea of installing Linux on my 486 system.  I have
a few questions though: (I've already read the FAQ):
                
        - I have a Diamond Speedstar (ET4000 compatible) video card.  The 
          FAQ said Diamond cards would not be supported.  Does this mean I
          cannot use the X Windows, or did I just misread something??

        - What good applications are out there for Unix and X, besides 
          the GNU stuff, emacs, etc.??


Any info would be greatly appreciated!!  Thanks!
