Odd.... I did try lilo several times, : including probably just entering it without an arguments. Oh well, if : it ain't broke..... I think I know what happened. My linux partition is on my second drive, so I think that just entering lilo probably overwrote the MBR on /dev/hdb and put the image into the root partition, i.e. /dev/hdb2. Anyway, I tinkered with the lilo config file this afternoon - removed the delay for a start, and re-lilo'ed (if there is such a word), now everything is fine.
