Does anyone know what it means when the OS reports that a process is 'respawning' to
fast?

I am trying to add a line to the inittab file to allow serial logins.  I am using SLS
1.0 0.99p8 and every time I try this I get the above message.  I am trying to allow
logins from another PC over a null-modem cable.
