--- Flame On --- After running Linux for a long time (I had originally installed 0.1 something off tsx-11, then gradually moved on up to 0.99), I got out my good ol' DOS5 diskette and fdisk'ed the Linux HD into bit-heaven. Mistake? No, I knew exactly what I was doing... Linux is a great OS. Unfortunately DOS type folk got a hold of it, barely learned how to use the "net" (without learning proper etiquette) and starting clogging the c.o.l newsgroup with junk articles... They figure that it's easier to ask on c.o.l than to read the FAQ's, the FM's, or some unix books (there is a list floating in news.answers), or hey here's a radical one - EXPERIMENT. And to service this growing lazy newbie market, what do we have? The 'Linux entrepeneur'... the guy who for a fee will provide you with disks, assisstance or even "comercial products". Wonder if he had to pay to get his knowledge or his disks? It's starting to look more and more like a PC based BBS, run by a bunch of 16 year olds. I used to recommend Linux to other people. I used to help other people install it and configure it. And I used to copy disks. All for free. No more. And just to be fair, I will not run it on my system. I'm outta here... --- Flame Off --- cheers, and happy spending :-) alex -- Only a surfer knows the feeling... alex@meadow.uucp
