I don't know for sure if it'll work, but it's worth a shot!

Try this:       (after backing-up anything you don't want to lose...)

      mknod  /dev/hdb9  b  3  73
      mknod  /dev/hdb10  b  3  74

That *should* create your missing devices.  If they work, let me know!
