In article <1993Apr25.122913.1022@rock.concert.net> abc@banjo.concert.net (Alan B Clegg) writes:[Other comments deleted] I don't use NNTP, except for mini-inews program included with it -- which I had to fix to make work. (Bugs in gethostname calls -- I posted the fix earlier -- will also help by e-mail if requested.) I've been using trn2.5 to access an INN server -- works great. The INN server has XTHREADs, so I don't even have to keep around a copy of the thread files (which are about 37 Mb if you thread our complete news server -- agate.berkeley.edu) I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has info on getting nn or tin supporting XTHREADs from the server. I'd like to offer a more intuitive news- reader (than trn) to my users, but can't afford the disk space to keep around a bunch of thread files. Respond via e-mail -- I'll post a summary if people want it. ==================================================================== Garrett D'Amore | garrett@sba70.berkeley.edu Software Co-Ordinator | 68 Barrows Hall, UC Berkeley Haas Computing Services | Ph: 510-643-5923 Fax: 642-4769 ====================================================================
