Well, I have been running trn3.0 (beta) from a Linux machine getting news
via NNTP for about 3 months now.  I doubt that tin would have any major
problems.

I also have INN 1.4 up and running doing a full news feed (1270 newsgroups)
to a Linux machine.  If you need help, let me know.
