before it has a chance to come up. The short solution is to change the
I/O address. I did not do this. Instead, on my old system, I installed
the latest linux, fiddled with /usr/include a bit and configured the
system with no hd except the Ultrasor. It booted nicely. Even recognizes
my NE2000 card...

Maybe the scsi startup can be re-arranged so as to NOT kill the 14F?
maybe testing for it earlier will be a better solution? I am in no
position to try it.
