Thanks much for your reply.  I am using IRQ 5.  As the installation software
suggested, I first used IRQ 2, and linux had no response whatsoever.

Are you using the same ? The manual describes it as VGAWONDER XL24,
part number 10701B0731.  Did you not have the "crazy cursor" problem?
