Greetings. Perhaps a bit off-subject but I saw something that
toggled that bit in the back of my mind... JDR (elecronic
        parts place) has something called

"2.88MB intelligent Floppy Controller... Allows booting from a
        2.88MB diskette... Supports QIC-80 1MB/sec transfers, eliminating
        expensive controllers... Part # MCT-FDC-ED (catalog #2
        (1992)) @ $79.95"

So, anyone ever try one of these? Will it ease the timing
problems that these cheap tape drives have with Linux? (I'm
VERY interested in a reply - I have one :-)

Also, BTW, about that 2.88MB... Does Linux support it?

        Take care.

P.S. I have no stock in this firm... All I ever ordered from
        them was some proto boards....
