I have tried much the same, with the only luck being that when the system
reboots, my wyse30 comes up the the system prompt, but won't take any
input.

As far as getting data, you will find that Wyse/Amdek have a free FAXback
service at an 800 number in California.  You can get most all of the specs
you need by calling this service.  It allows you to Touch-Tone request up
to 6 documents at a time, including an index document.

The 800 number is:  800 800 WYSE.  It will instruct you how to use the
automated FAXback service.
