The easiest way to build Xfree86 v 1.1 is to ftp to export.lcs.mit.edu
in the contrib/XFree86 directory. Get all the files, and read the README.

Builds rather easily, except you have to know how to build shared libraries
if you don't want your client binaries to be HUGE.
