Hello all.

I am new to linux.
I had a hard time getting Linux up at all, but now I have a running,
compiling and tar-ing system: a basic Linux I think.
I tried to compile with TCP/IP enabled (kernel 0.99, Configure-d for
TCP/IP) and now I only get "socket: protocol not supported".
I can't track down the error.
"config" seems to try to create a socket, get a negative result and
prints the error. "inetd" then dies with a silent core dump.

What am I doing wrong?

Where do I get some information about Linux. All I cat find on various
ftp servers is a couple of "README" but nothing describing the whole
thing. Am I looking in the wrong places or is Linux still not bad enough
to be documented? :-)

Please help (email preferred)

Thanks
hase
