Lest it isn't clear already, I am mostly against the new groups, with
the possible exception of .announce.  I do not find that about 100
messages per day is too much for one group (actually, I much prefer it
it over half a dozen groups with a dozen or two messages per day).  It
is pretty rude, but if you think that it is too much, perhaps you should
consider getting a better newsreader?

(Oh, and unless something really dramatic happens on the splitting
front, I am not going to participate in the discussion anymore, which
means, among other things, that I won't respond to every message with a
suggestion to post a RFD.  I've said it enough times that I think that
everybody is getting rather bored with me.)
