As I am new to Linux and planning to install it with X11 on my machine,
I have to following questions:
  o which is the newest version of Linux (and where can I get it)?
  o which is the newest version of a Linux-X11 port and what is X386?
  o which X11 version works with the corresponding Linux version
    (I've heard that there have been some difficulties)
  o which GNU-C/C++ compiler do I have to use to recompile X11?
  o Is there any german keyboard device driver?
I know that these questions belong to FAQ's but I think that it is a real
problem of Linux that nobody knows the current versions and their
compatibilities to existing application software until he makes his own
(errorful) experiences, maybe one should create a regularly posted
(and proved) 'error magazine' to avoid such problems.
