Does extended partition for SCSI works in 0.97?

Subject: Does extended partition for SCSI works in 0.97?

I am running 0.97. I read that the new SCSI code was in and it suppose
to support extended partition for SCSI drive. But when I tried fdisk,
mtools, dosfs alpha 7, on the extended partitions, none seem to work.
Is anyone using extended partitions on SCSI drive ? 

I have one IDE drive and on SCSI drive in my computer if that make a
difference.
