I've been trying to compile GNU make and just can't seem to get it right.  
By the time I get something that runs, I find that it has subtle run-time 
errors like losing some parts of Makefile entries.  I am sure to save a
copy of the old version until I am comfortable that this thing won't mess
up on me.  I know I can get a binary, but I'm trying to gather the source
code for everything.  I could also attempt to locate the problem, but I'd
rather spend the time on new projects if possible.  It might just be that
one of the library functions isn't working as the program expects it, since
I'm trying to keep the size of the binary small by not including the
various auxillary GNU routines like "alloca".

Will someone please put a copy of the diffs on tsx-11?
