There is a file (I beleive it is /usr/lib/X11/xinitrc, but don't quote
me, 'cause I forgot) that controls what happens when you type
'startx'.

copy this file to .xinitrc in your root directory, and edit it to
contain code to start up the programs you want, including your window
manager.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:-----

Who would be interested in a GWM window manager written for, I.E.
associated with Linux.  Granted, a WM is a WM, but one that could
be considered the 'de facto' Linux WM (once you get past twm).

I am currently writing a GWM WM called ZWM.  It is a 3-D WM vaguely
reminiscent of the NeXTStep system, but it is not a clone.  It will,
for example, have a 2-d-only mode, and you can choose to have all
the buttons, say, in 2-d, etc.

If no one-s interested, I'll save myself some time and write it just
for me.  But if anyone else is interested, I'll take the time to make
a nice customization interface.

If anyone is interested in seeing this thing (just vestiges right now,
really) I'll make a stable version and place it on an FTP site.
