In article <1992Aug26.125143.17176@murdoch.acc.Virginia.EDU> fh8n@uvacs.cs.Virginia.EDU (Frank Houston) writes:Well, the DAK price is nice, but you better order fast, since DAK recently (a couple of months ago?) filed for bankruptcy. :) Actually, Linux also supports several other SCSI controllers, the ST01/2 (Seagate) being among them, and those are s'posed to be dirt cheap. Go for it. :) I'm sure that once someone decides they need it enough, they'll write one - until then, why bother? I don't know many people who would go out and buy some hardware just so they can write the drivers for it. This is pure speculation, but I suspect it may also be harder to get the information needed to write drivers for the proprietary (non-SCSI) systems. -- + Jim Winstead Jr. (CSci '95) | Harvey Mudd College, WIBSTR | jwinstea@jarthur.Claremont.EDU + or jwinstea@fenris.Claremont.EDU
