As talks about Interviews get louder, I'll add some information:

I'm in game with my interviews port for some time and actually
have Interviews 3.1 beta running. I just made the patches
available in the form I've sent them to Mark Linton on
fgb1.fgb.mw.tu-muenchen.de in pub/linux/patches/iv3.1beta.diff.
They include patches for doc, which I actually use for my thesis.

Mark Linton seemed to be willing to include them in the final
release of 3.1.
