Hello,

Just as soon as I finish tuning KERMIT I'll be prepared to install gcc2.2.2d
I've tried to read as much as I could on installing gcc, but I'm still unclear
about a couple of questions. If someone could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate
it.

Steps to installation of gcc, (as I understand them to be).
Download the 3 gcc files to my Linux machine (lib/misc/db).
Download the Header files for 0.97pl1
Download the Install.2.x script.

Where should the compiler be placed (directory tree)?
Is there anything else, ie. changing my paths,etc ?

I appologise if these are ignorant questions, but I'm learning and I've not
been able to find the answers.
