OK, here's the deal. I goofed; I did a "Print PostScript to Disk" in
FreeHand instead of running it through PageMaker and doing a
"Print EPS to Disk." Mea culpa. It won't happen again, I promise! :-)
So, I finally got an Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) file which _should_,
in theory, print on any PostScript printer or Previewer. That being
said, it has only actually been tried in FreeHand and PageMaker
(MS Word 5.0 on the Mac translated it, but it came out as a gray box on the
screen, like any other graphic), and it was printed on a LaserWriter IIg
connected to my Mac, and an HP LaserJetIIID PostScript connected to an
MS-DOS computer. (Needless to say, the LaserWriterIIg, with 8M of RAM
and PhotoGrade and FinePrint enabled produced _MUCH_ better output :-)
It should be available as soon as Ted puts it in its directory at
TSX-11. I look forward to your comments.
BTW-you might have to change the ^M's to CR/LFs. I had to translate
from Mac->MS-LOSS->Linux to get the thing uploaded, so the CRs all got
changed to ^Ms. Sorry...
