Then CrossTalk is stupid.  I've never had Qmodem do that to me, in years of
DOS use and hundreds of Zmodem automatic downloads.  There is a several-
dozen-character string with a couple leading asterisks which follows a
newline, and *that* should be checked for.  Scream at the makers of
Crosstalk if you need Crosstalk to do that right.
