I have one of these, the manual simply states

"CD-ROM Interface

Built-in CD-ROM AT-Bus type interface and CD-ROM audio line-in
connector."

Is this an IDE interface for CD-Rom drives? (It has a 40pin lead)
If so have we here the future for CD-Rom interfaces on IBM PCs?

I to would love access to my CD-Rom drive under Linux but I'm finding
the whole thing very overwhelming at the moment :( and any attempt
to implement this myself is out of my league ( currently )
