Hi,

since I was not able to get a simple Xlib program run under X V. 1.0 and GCC
2.12, I installed the latest versions of both, X V. 1.1 and GCC/C++ 2.2.2.

I used Linux V. 0.95c and startx printed out some of these normal messages
before switching to graphics mode, but this time it didn`t switch. Instead
it threw out a "memory error" and stopped.

Then I got Linux bootimage0.96b (which was told me to use with X1.1) and this
time the "memory error" was thrown without any messages.

What went wrong with it?

Hauke
