>From article <1992Jul11.000255.22287@cbfsb.cb.att.com>, by mvdfd1@cbnewsb.cb.att.com (donald.f.dodier):On UNIX, \n is a decimal 10 character, which is linefeed. I think the problem is obvious, like its solution. Your printer surely has an option to do a carriage return each time it gets a linefeed. Each printer *I* know of has. And don't be afraid of problems under DOS, I never heard of any. I don't want to offend you, but please please please look for a local guru to help you. You and all the other (DOS) people now got sys admin for a little more complicated system, so you should look for someone to help you or at least getting some literature about the system you are using. Otherwise, comp.os.linux gets flooded by articles most people will not read. *** FAQ MAINTAINERS: PLEASE ADD SOME LITERATURE REFERENCES TO THE FAQ *** To give a start: You will need to know C to fix problems, so k&r is a must. Concerning UNIX books: I recommend all the books written by people originally involved in UNIX, like Brian Kernighan. I always found them to be very understandable. Ok, books cost some money but hey, you already got the OS for free!!! Michael
