It appears that people keep discussing the ATI VGA WONDER card as a potential target for x386/Linux. However, unless I missed some messages while I was on vacation last week, it also appears that no one has started working on this. Therefore, unless someone lets me know they are working on this driver, I will start work on 1 August 1992. I will have a beta available asap after that. My initial plan is to port the X11R4 x386 1.1b ATI VGA WONDER driver that was supplied by Doug Evans (dje@sspiff.ampr.ab.ca). I will need beta testers, and to help avoid confusion I am supplying a list of boards which will likely be supported and a list of those which will *not* be supported. The BIOS version should be visible at boot time. The dot clock and chip version numbers are usually printed on the chips on the circuit board. If you have a board that is on the *UN*supported list, please do not send me mail about it. I don't know anything about these boards and won't be able to help you with them at all. SUPPORTED BOARDS (Send mail if you want to be a beta tester): Adapter Version Dot Clock Chip Version BIOS VGA WONDER (1 MB) ATI 18810 ATI 28800-4 112xx109xx VGA WONDER XL ATI 18810 ATI 28800-5 112xx122xx NOTE: YOU *MUST* HAVE 1 MB OF RAM ON THE CARD! Some VGA WONDER (1 MB) cards were sent with VGA WONDER+ manuals and and addendum sheet: PLEASE USE THE BIOS VERSION to be sure that your card will work with this driver. UNSUPPORTED BOARDS (Please do *NOT* send me mail about these): Adapter Version Dot Clock Chip Version BIOS VGA INTEGRA ? ? ?
