Hi all:
Thanks to the kind soul who mailed me patches for IRQ5 on com4 I now can
log in from my 8088 system. However, I get the same weird errors that were
mentioned by James L. Paul, namely the serial port output does not flush until
until a character is typed at the remote terminal.
Some info: kermit handles all characters immediately (as expected).
bash and login hang intermittently (a character must be typed
in before the login: or $ prompt appears. NOTE: one single
                 character is all it takes.)
ps shows the channel hangs on GET_TERMIOS or SEND_BREAK (not
                 the expected READ_CHANNEL.)
I have tested the patches I made quite thoroughly since I thought it was
all my fault. If anyone (Linus ?) can duplicate this problem or give some point
ers on the serial code it would be most appreciated.
       Thanks in advance,
                         jim v5068u@vm.temple.edu
