Matt's Guidelines for Linux Users, Number One:

  Never, NEVER use intimidation to fix problems with your Linux system!
  Remember, this system is still in beta, and is quite impressionable
  and will bend to even the slightest exertion of force. 

  Your system will get you back for it later.
