Unfortunately... :-( I thought Fidonet technology was one of the
greatest things since sliced bread when I first found it, but I'm having
second, third and fourth thoughts now. It's great for direct person to
person mail, but echomail will be it's downfall (some say this has
already happened...)

Well, _THIS_ usenet site is running Waffle under DOS. I guess I could
buy the source and fix it so it uses links. I'd hate to ever have to
run CHKDSK on the machine to fix a problem, though. :-( The DOS
version of Waffle makes a separate copy for each cross-post.

Where do messages _from_ Fidonet go? c.o.l.misc?? Okay, fine. That's
the only newsgroup I'll read, so I can make sure not to miss any of the
posts from Fidonet. Hmmm, this is a great idea. I have exactly the
newsgroup I get now because...

I have my doubts as to the enforceability (sp?) of this idea, but I'll
keep most of them to myself. New people won't know about it, and people
crossposting from other groups probably won't either. Especially if
they don't read c.o.l.{whatever,the,f*ck,theyre,going,to,be} regularly
and count on crossposts for getting answers/comments/whatever back to
the newsgroup that they _ARE_ reading. I vote for you being responsible
for following up any articles that aren't properly crossposted, posting
them into c.o.l.misc, and mailing the person responsible - explaining
nicely what the "rules" are.

Go ahead and get to the CFV stage, I know what I'm voting - I'm done
with my discussion. I've got more important things to worry about, like
what the new station ownership is going to do when they close the deal,
whether I'll have a job, and what to do if I don't.
