without getting into the 'why not use a threaded newsreader'
hysteria (I do, so don't bother)...

I'd love to see a split...the volume is high enough to 
warrant a split into reasonable logical areas

        - announcements
        - porting guides/requests for help
        - compiler
        - x
        - newbie stuff

Yes, having 'trn' at home under linux and 'nn' at work
on the workstation here makes it managable, but I think
a split would help.
