Thanks to everyone's hard work, 1.8.0 is now released! The main site
has been updated and our mirrors have the ISOs.

There are still a flurry of commits being made, mostly minor stuff
though there may still be a few issues with SMBFS and ACPI, and a
few long-standing bugs that we couldn't track down in time for this
release. We are planning a 1.8.1 release in a few weeks to address
these.

Known typos on http://www.dragonflybsd.org/community/release1_8.shtml:

"since these operations have to *bed* forwarded by the real kernel to
the virtual kernel"

"Many, *M*any"

Somebody else beat me to the post, but if we could digg this up to the front
page, it would go a long way to get more exposure.

And also kill Matt's connection. It's no longer called the Slashdot
effect, it is now the Digg effect.

Any one thought of setting up mirrors of the main site like the
download mirrors?

Come on now, it would be an excellent test of how DragonFly handles it :-)

I'm pretty sure he was referring to Matt's slow Internet connection.
