and THAT is EXACTLY why todays software is generally crap.

Once programming software == the rigors of engineering I will finally be out of a testing job.

It can't happen soon enough, and I for one would have preferred Linus to be helping in the drive for this to happen, as opposed to helping perpetuate the situation of software engineering having no more discipline than any other transient hobby activity.
