i have a toshiba 1800 and i am tring to get a gui installed. i have tired many different combinations but none work. does anyone have a suggestion?
Well with the prospect of so much free time my current list of things to do include:
A new "private messages" feature has been added to KernelTrap. Let me know what you think...
If anyone want to hire me I seem to be available now :-)
I have some skills
I just got confirmation from the Quake III team captain, PA Sniper{KEA}, that I'm going to be accepted into Clan {KEA}. Now I just have to learn Licq and netfilter ICQ setup......grumble...
On a different note, I learned from Jozsef Kadlecsik (the conntrack dude in the netfilter coreteam) about how to destroy a connection inside the conntrack/NAT cores. Now I can start to write my ctexpr patch......
and none of them offer any value to anyone...
Just started writing a thought organizer for a conntrack expiration idea I've been kicking around for a while. After I finish the organizer, I'll write the patch.
Basically, conntrack expiration allows you to wipe connections from the connection table after a set period, thus preventing your table from being filled with old "stale" connections.
More on this later....
Mental note:
before submitting a newsitem to kerneltrap (or any community-based news site, for that matter), always, *ALWAYS* reload the news page/pages (as opposed to merely loading it); or you may end up looking /really/ stupid. :
I love this new KernelTrap software. It's really quite powerful, and it's much faster than the old PHP-Nuke stuff. Being able to keep a journal is also quite excellent.
A business trip will have me up in the Boston area for a little over a week, during which time I'll be unable to make updates to KernelTrap. I return March 8th.
Drupal does allows users to post stories, and vote on whether the story is actually posted to the front page. Once logged in, click on the submission queue link to view stories that have been submitted for approval.
Having several weeks to plan a careful and slow migration, I instead took a serious break from the web. Suddenly realizing that my original server is expiring on the 15'th (tomorrow), I have to make the jump quickly. Expect the site to keep changing (improving) for a while... But having people actively use the new site will be the encouragment I need to get everything working properly.
One feature I'm especially hopeful to see used is the new blogs. It'll allow users to keep their own journals, of which hopefully many will be appropriate to be posted on the front page.
