Since Jeremy won't be updating anything here for some time (see his blog post), i've decided to start submitting stuff again.
I'll have some difficulty tracking down stuff in the mailing list, due to borkage in my mail server. It's been down for about a month. No word from the admin on when it'll be back; so i'll have to rely on mailing-list archives.
As some of you might have noticed, i've been rather inactive lately. This was largely because:
[1] Final Exams at school.
[2] I've been spending a lot of time lately gaming.
And now i'll shamelessly continue not being active for a while more. Now that i'm on my summer vacation, I want to take a good rest for a while. I'll be back.
Hello, everyone.
Sorry for that long hiatus. I kinda got tired of tracking mailing lists, and decided to take a not-so-short break. Even went as far as unsubscribing from linux-kernel; and i stopped visiting kerneltrap regularly.
Ugh. the weird mail trouble i was having was apparently a client-side problem. So now i'm flooded with about 1900 new mails. Kinda gives meaning to the "You have mail!" phrase.
So now i can check lkml again - which means i can start submitting stories :D (of course, i could have read lkml using a mailing-list archive, but it's way more convenient to have it delivered straight to you.)
*sigh*
Edsger Dijsktra passed away today, 2002-08-07.
Update: Apparently the real date of his passing away was 2002-08-06. And slashdot has a story about this.
If you have an IDE box (as most do), don't use kernel 2.5.27; it has a nasty corruption bug.
Read on.
Yay, i just (well, it was a week ago) won 3rd place (along with a bunch of other students) in the Intermediate Level (which is 9th and 10th grade [1]) in a national-level mathematics competetition, which is held each year.
[1] I like parentheses.
Mental note:
before submitting a newsitem to kerneltrap (or any community-based news site, for that matter), always, *ALWAYS* reload the news page/pages (as opposed to merely loading it); or you may end up looking /really/ stupid. :
