KernelTrap is running on a dedicated server. As of January 15, 2007, the server has the following specs:

• Dual Core AMD Opteron(r) 2212HE; 2.0GHz, 2X1MB Cache, 1Ghz HyperTransport
• 2 GB Ram (667 MHz)
• Mirrored 250 GB SATA II 7.2K RPM hard drives

KernelTrap uses the Gentoo Linux distribution.

For reference, our old dedicated server purchased with reader donations had the following specs:

• Supermicro P4SGR motherboard
• Intel Pentium 4 2.66 Ghz, 533 Mhz FSB, 512 L2 cache
• 2 GB Ram (333 MHz)
• 70 GB U160 10k SCSI hard drives
